Broken Heartbeats
“I hear your heartbeat to the beat of the drums”

So today, I’d like to talk about my new DJ set idea. I’ve seen this in practice before, I would say probably Major Lazer, Jamie xx, and Bonobo have executed this one at shows I’ve seen. Oh, and obviously ODESZA. I really want to see a Bronson show from those people. Picture is Sasquatch 2016 if anyone else was there. Great lineup, btw.

Essentially, the concept is a DJ set with indie music. Obviously, this won’t be easy to pull off, due to different tempos in indie songs which makes DJ’ing electronic music that’s around the same BPM. However, if you are a talented DJ, you can easily find interesting ways to mix the songs together creatively without too much effort. I highly recommend this video on creative DJ transitions — literally any DJ can learn this.

Anyways, the whole vibe I’m going for is a sort of “broken heartbeats” sort of thing. Think Heartbeats by Jose Gonzales; and moving through a whole musical spectrum on the way to the OG Heartbeats by The Knife. In fact, that’s literally what the whole playlist is about. Notable other highlights include In My Mind (feat. Georgi Kay) — Axwell Radio Edit & Teenage Crime — Radio Edit.
Without further obnoxious ado, I do present my playlist: broken heartbeats.
I hope you have a lovely day!
Cheers,
Daniel
